Klank.ist is founded by music composer Eda Er, visual artist Mertcan Seker. After Mertcan's separation the collective grew rapidly with the participations of dancer and choreographer Ekin Tunceli who coordinated the klank.ist impro events, and music composer Asli Kobaner. Currently, klank.ist continues to carry out their projects with Er and Kobaner's artistic direction and coordination. Collaborations are realized through distinguished artists/academics such as Intercultural Music curator Eren Arin and regular collaborator Jeremy Woodruff.
Klank.ist is a group which tries to expand its limits in transdisciplinary genres. We perform experiments between audio-visual disciplines and design transmedial compositions both musically and visually. We collaborate with a vast number of disciplines such as dance, theater, music, architecture, production design.
